Man injured in acid attack by wife

ELURU: In a case of acid attack allegedly by his wife, Jaladi Suresh (35), a farm worker, sustained grievous injuries at Chagallu in West Godavari district on Thursday. With severe burns on his face and stomach, he was rushed to a hospital for treatment at Nidadavole. He was stated to be out of danger.

According to information, Nirmala Kumari, his wife and former constable of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) poured acid on the victim while he was sleeping in the morning. She remained at large immediately after the attack.

The police registered a case of attempt to murder against Nirmala Kumari, who was dismissed from her job recently. She lodged a complaint of dowry harassment against her husband a few months ago.
