Bhushan attacked: Anna upset with head-breaking youths

Ralegan Siddhi, Oct 12: Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare has strongly condemned the attack on senior SC lawyer Prashant Bhushan in his chamber at apex court premises on Wednesday, Oct 12.

Expressing his shock over the incident, Anna said, “I strongly condemn this attack. No one has the right to take law in their hands.”

Commenting on young attackers, “I have heard youngsters had attacked Prashant. This is very disheartening. We have a lot of expectations from the youth. Taking law in their hands and attacking somebody is not right.”

“I have high hopes from youths. If they take up this kind of activities, it’s not good for our society,” he added.

Replying to a media question Hazare said that he his not aware of reason behind this attack and he will seek details from Bhusan and Arvind Kejriwal, in this regards.

Hazare refused to comment on Bhushan’s remarks over referendum in Jammu and Kashmir.

Responding to a query if security was required for his team members, Hazare said that it’s not possible to carry security everywhere. Taking examples of Rajivi Gandhi’s and Indira Gandhi’s assassinations the crusader said that “security cover is not enough if someone is ought to attack you.”

Following attack on Bushan, however, Hazare deemed the necessary for security for his fellow-activists for a while.

Bhusan was attacked by a group of three activistis, who are claiming to be from an unknown outfit called ‘Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena.’ One amongst the attackers has been arrested.

The anonymous group on their Facebook page had claimed responsibility for that attack and said, “We hit Prashant Bhushan hard in his chamber in Supreme Court. If u will try to break my nation, I will break ur heads.”

Bhushan was attacked for his alleged anti-national stance on Jammu and Kashmir issue.
