Chetana Kumble has moved the Supreme Court challenging the High Court order referring her child custody case

Chetana Kumble, wife of former International Cricketer, Anil Kumble has moved the Supreme Court challenging the High Court order referring her child custody case to the family court.

Earlier the High Court had disposed of a petition by Kumar Jahagirdar, ex-husband of Chetana Kumble, relating to the custody rights of his daughter. Jahagirdar had moved the Court seeking custody of his daughter living with Chetana after they divorced. Subsequently, Chetana married Anil Kumble.

Jahagirdar had contended in his petition that after his daughter shifted residence along with Kumble and Chetana from Basavanagudi to Banashankari, she had difficulty in going to her school as it was too far. He also said that Chetana and Kumble now had a child and sought custody of his daughter. Terming the two reasons as frivolous, Justice Rammohan Reddy had disposed of the petition and directed the family court to pass order on the issue.
