ONGOLE: In a shocking incident, police caught a medical practitioner while he was trying to sell two infants at Markapuram in Prakasam district on Saturday.

The police conducted a surprise check on the private hospital premises of Jayanand Prakash, a gynaecologist in the town, and found two children aged two months and four days in the doctor’s bedroom. When quizzed by the police, the doctor said the children were abandoned by their unmarried mothers and that he was planning to hand them over to an orphanage.
