New Delhi, Oct 18: Anna Hazare’s aides who went to New Delhi to meet AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi headed back home after Anna Hazare called them back, said reports.
The village head Jaisingrao Mapri accompanied by Suresh Pathare, Anna Hazare’s personal assistant and Ramdas Ugle, trustee of Sant Yadav Shikshan Mandal, a school being run in Ralegan Siddhi along with others went to visit Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on his invitation.
After reaching the AICC General Secretary’s office at 9 am today, they found to their disappointment that there was no such meeting scheduled.
Owning up the blame, Congress MP, Kerala PT Thomas said that there was a miscommunication from his office and later in a press release said that though a request was made to him by the sarpanch and deputy sarpanch to meet Rahul Gandhi, no such confirmation was given on the same.
Meanwhile, Anna Hazare has invited Rahul Gandhi to his village. Confirming the reports his nephew, Vinayakrao Deshmukh, said, “Anna’s message is clear that Rahul is welcome to Ralegan. He has high expectations from Rahul about the leadership of the new generation.”
