To marry lover, girl falsely accuses her father of rape

Ahmedabad: In a bizarre tale of unfulfilled love, manipulation, deceit and suffering, a teenager from Odhav who wanted to marry her lover falsely accused her father of rape at the behest of her uncle.
And now, almost 10 months after her complaint to the police, the girl, Sheetal (name changed), finds herself without a home and family. The lover for whom she was willing to send her father, Bharat Punjabi, to jail on charges of raping her, has cut off ties with her.
Punjabi has been on the run for the past 10 months to evade arrest and his jewellery shop has been taken over by his brother, Manoj Punjabi, who is accused of hatching the entire conspiracy.
The girl submitted an application to the Ramol police on December 14, begging pardon for causing her father
