Need to reform judicial system – Justice Raveendran

Bangalore May 2, 2009: Supreme Court Judge Justice R V Raveendran today underlined the need for introducing reformations in the judicial system for fast disposal of pending cases.

In his inaugural address at South Zone Regional Judicial Workshop, organised by Karnataka Judicial Academy here, Justice Raveendran said the judicial fraternity should also carry out an introspection on the issue of delay in the disposal of cases for years.

Enumerating the reasons like shortage of staff, facilities, delay in presenting witnesss for piling up of cases for years in the courts, he said ”the judges could follow their conscience and spirit of the law in fast disposal of the cases.” Karnataka High Court Chief Justice P D Dinakaran also participated in the programme.
