Newborn baby girl abandoned at Malad

MUMBAI: A newborn baby girl was found abandoned near a nullah close to NL College in Malad on Thursday. The child was rushed to the ICCU of a

private hospital in Malad, where she is recuperating. Police officials are hunting for her parents.

“The baby was spotted at Bhadrankar Nagar by Meena Ruparel (48), a local resident. After she informed us, a team rushed to the spot,” a senior police official said.

The police will now take the statements of locals and enquire whether a stranger with a baby was spotted in the locality recently. Officials will also visit every house in the area to find out if there were any pregnant women who have delivered recently
