With no one ready to help, Bengali hangs himself in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 27: A man, who hailed from Jalpaiguri – a district in North Bengal, committed suicide in God’s own country – Kerala. Bullet Oran faced a tragic end and was believed to have been victimised over the differences in Indian languages.

Oran met with an accident when he fell from a train at Cherthala in Alappuzha district in Kerala. He reportedly banged on almost all homes near by the railway track where he fell from the train but no one proceeded to help injured Oran. He (Oran) was bleeding and when he could not sustain his injuries, Oran hanged himself in a temple.

The deceased, who was a migrant worker, came to Kerala with a dream of getting job in the state. Police said Oran, along with his two other friends, were on their way to Kochi.

“Oran went to several houses. They might have misunderstood him as a thief. Language problem too might have contributed,” stated police and also added, “Some people saw Oran commit suicide.”

In an another incident, localites of Kakkanadu near Kochi had attacked a camp of Bengali workers over an alleged mobile phone theft case. Many of them were brutally injured. Police claimed that most of the incidents took place over different lifestyle, language and culture.
