Woman poisons daughters, self after fight with husband

New Delhi, July 2 A woman injected her daughters, aged three and four, as well as herself with a poisonous substance after a fight with her husband. While both the girls died, the woman is now in a critical condition, police said here Thursday.

Rupa, a gynaecologist working in Ambedkar Hospital in Rohini, had a bitter argument with her surgeon husband over the setting up of a private hospital.

“Following the fight, she booked a room in the City Park hotel and took both her daughters there. She injected herself with a poisonous substance after doing the same to both the girls. Then she called her husband and told him about it,” a police official said.

“The girls died and the mother is still in a critical condition,” the official added.

The family was residing in Maurya Enclave in northwest Delhi.
