Wife, daughter can kill a Man ?
AHMEDABAD: A man was clubbed to death by his wife and daughter on Sunday. The duo, Hetal, 19 and Nirmala, 35, were arrested on Monday by the Odhav police.
The man was killed because he tried to get his daughter married to a man she and her mother did not approve of. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon at Indiranagar in Odhav. Govind Rathod, 40, had got into an argument with his wife and daughter. This, say police officials, was quite common place in the Rathod household, ever since he accepted the proposal of a man who stays in Bilasia village of Kanbha.
On Sunday afternoon, the quarrel took place and matters came to a impasse. According to the police, Nirmala seized a club used to wash clothes and hit Govind on his head repeatedly in a fit of rage. “Hetal and Nirmala did not like this marriage proposal that Govind was so insistent upon. The motherdaughter duo believed that Govind had chosen the wrong groom,” said Odhav police.
But Govind was adamant on his choice and insisted that Hetal get married where he asked her to. On Sunday, the issue once again came up for discussion. The mother-daughter had left the house in a huff after beating up Govind.
Later, a neighbour Ramesh Jadav saw Govind lying immobile on a cot at his house. When he tried waking him, Jadav realised Govind was dead. He had then called up Odhav police.
