Kolkata, Jan 7 A local court in West Bengal’s Howrah district Tuesday sent a 24-year-old woman, who murdered her husband Monday, to five days’ police custody.
Sagorika Bhattacharjee, a resident of Kamardanga area in West Bengal’s Howrah district, murdered her husband Bapi late Monday evening.
“Bapi’s body was recovered from under his bed. He was strangled to death,” a senior police officer at Dasnagar Investigation Centre said.
According to the police officer, the crime was result of a ‘bad marriage’.
“The couple used to have frequent fights with each other. In a way, it was a bad marriage that led to the murder,” the officer told reporters Tuesday.
The officer said Bhattacharjee fled from her house after committing the crime.
