Rs 23 cr payoff: ED will probe businessmen linked to Kalmadi

New Delhi, Oct 1: Enforcement Directorate seeks court’s permission to question Faridabad-based businessmen in the coming weeks. Directorate found a payoff of Rs 23 crore. The interrogation may cause trouble to the OC chairman of the Commonwealth Games Suresh Kalmadi.

Officials checked the phone records and found that the Fariadabad businessmen were in touch with the chairman of Commonwealth game and former OC director-general V K Verma. These businessmen did nothing to be paid by Swiss firm. The three accused are in judicial custody.

Sources revealed that Swiss firm had outsourced the contract to the Fariadabad-based firm and made a payment of Rs 23 crore.

Suresh Kalmadi was arrested and sent to Tihar jail after CBI had filed charges against Suresh kalmadi and eight others in connection with the irregularities.
