CBI to arrest Ramdev’s ‘missing’ aide Balakrishna

Haridwar, Jul 27: It can be another jittery for Baba Ramdev as sources said that the investigative agency Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) may arrest Baba’s “missing” aide Acharya Balakrishna on Thursday, Jul 28.

“It appears he is missing from his residence for three days. If needed he may be arrested,” CBI sources said on Wednesday, Jul 27.

Balakrishna has been accused of holding fake degree certificates from Varanasi University on Sanskrit. CBI summoned the aide of the Yoga-guru on Thursday and he (Balakrishna) may be detained if he fails to appear before the CBI on the scheduled time and date.

Meanwhile, Balakrishna’s bodyguard Jayendra Singh Aswal on Tuesday had filed missing report. According to Aswal, Balakrishna had asked him to leave early for Patanjali office on Monday but he (Balakrishna) himself did not reach the venue at the scheduled time.

After investigation, police was told that Ramdev’s aide had gone for some ‘urgent work’ and he would soon return to the ashram. Though the ashram authorities refused to comment on Balakrishna’s whereabouts.

Citing the tremendous possibility that Balakrishna may try to abscond the country to avoid any legal actions against him, the government on Monday alerted all airports and border check points.
