Assassinated Salman Taseer’s son kidnapped – Anarchy in Pak?

Lahore, Aug 26: Assassinated Pakistani Governor, Salman Taseer’s son Shahbaz Taseer has been kidnapped in Lahore on Aug 26.

According to sources, Shahbaz Taseer was abducted at the gun point by four assailants. The brother of the victim, Shehryar Taseer said, “Shabhaz was out with a friend when four unidentified people kidnapped him,” and also added, “Our family has been receiving threats from the Taliban and extremist groups.”

However, no extremist groups or any individual group have so far claimed the responsibility of the abduction.

The razor-tongued governor of Pakistan, Salman Taseer was shot dead by his own escort on in Jan 2011.

The assassinated governor had supported a Christian woman, who was sentenced to death. The woman allegedly criticised the Muslim prophet Muhammad.

Taseer’s move had enraged many and leading religious groups denounced him as an “apostate” and burned his effigies during a nationwide strike recently.
