Sri Sri Ravishankar grabs Rs 50 cr land illegally in K’taka?

Bangalore, Sep 6: Art of Living (AoL) fame Sri Sri Ravishankar has been accused of grabbing land illegally in Karnataka. The spiritual guru allegedly built a meditation center on the land which was reportedly allocated for poor and landless people.

A Tehelka report claimed that Sri Sri allegedly encroached five acres of government land worth Rs 50 crore in Karnataka. However, the report also unearthed that the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) was also aware about the issue. Though a timely intervention by the then Chief Minister of the state, BS Yeddyurappa reportedly had saved Sri Sri and his Art of Living foundation from facing any legal trouble.

The MUDA reportedly reportedly wanted to fine the “Guruji” and the authorities also wanted to demolish the meditation center. However, Yeddyurappa allegedly had poured water on their plan.

Meanwhile, M Lakshmana of the Association of Concerned and Informed Citizens of Mysore said, “The land that Sri Sri acquired was left as a buffer zone and not developed as a residential layout as it allowed for the free flow of water from Chamundi Hills to Alanahalli tank. It was supposed to be converted into a botanical park.”
