Doctor Chops off Legal terrorist hand

Amritsar, Apr 27 : Police are on the look-out for a doctor, who allegedly chopped off his young wife’s hand, before turning to his brother-in-law amid allegations that the accused was demanding more dowry.

Police said doctor Gursahib Singh of Patti village in Tarn Taran district, was on the run ever since the incident on Saturday. His wife Kulbir Kaur was admitted to a government hospital in a serious condition.

The doctor, who runs a clinic at the village also chopped off the hand of his brother-in-law Manpreet who had come to meet them. Manpreet was admitted to a private hospital in Amritsar.

Police said the couple were married for about 10 months.

On Saturday night Singh went out with his wife and allegedly committed the crime. Later he returned to his house and attacked Manpreet.

Police said, according to the statement of their neighbours, the accused was demanding more dowry from his in-laws and that the dispute was severe for the last few months.
