Sun TV man asked Rs 100 cr on doctored tape: Nithyananda

Bangalore, Jul 13: Sun TV has been in real trouble for some time. While its owner Kalanidhi Maran was summoned by the Tamil Nadu police, Swami Nithyananda followed South Indian actress Ranjitha in accusing the television channel over a “doctored” tape which allegedly captured the Swami and the actress in a compromising position.

On Wednesday, Jul 13, Ranjitha stated, “My constitutionally assured privacy has been irreparably and relentlessly breached by the acts of ‘Sun TV Network’ when they telecast a spuriously obtained tape and claimed it was me on Mar 2, 2010 (along with Swami Nithyananda).”

Following the actress’ path, Nithyananda also came up with bribe taking allegations against the television network. “Someone claimed to represent Sun TV and tried to extort money from me. They asked for Rs 100 crore, then came down to Rs 60 crore.”

Soon after Dayanidhi Maran’s resignation from the union cabinet as textile minister, Nithyananda hurled his first attack on Kalanidhi (brother of Dayanidhi). Representative of Nithyananda filed a legal complaint accusing Sun Network of morphing and telecasting the sex video.

Nithyananda in sex-controversy:

A video footage, which was aired in 2010, allegedly showed Nithyananda and an actress in a compromising condition. Soon the spiritual leader was arrested from Himachal Pradesh, though was released later on bail. He is charged over many criminal cases including rape.
