New Delhi, April 15 (IANS) In a fifth sexual assault on minor girls in Delhi in barely two weeks, all by neighbours, a rickshaw puller allegedly raped a two-and-a-half-year-old girl, the police said Monday.Lalan Prasad, 23, took the victim to a secluded place in Raghubir Nagar area late Sunday on a pretext and allegedly raped her.
The police said Prasad, who is from Bihar, then dropped the girl home but the family caught him after seeing their daughter bleeding profusely.
The family informed the police, but Prasad managed to escape before the officials could reach the spot.
The girl was admitted to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, where her condition was stated to be critical Monday afternoon.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Delhi) Sharad Agarwal told IANS that Prasad was a distant relative of the victim.
