Allies in terror: IM, Taliban forge a sinister coalition

Ahmedabad, Jul 18: If crime branch officers are to be believed, then terror outfits Indian Mujahideen and the Taliban have come forward to forge the ultimate sinister coalition. The officers are claiming to have uncovered details of the joint venture between the two terror outfits.

A senior crime branch officer has been quoted by the Times of India as saying, “Emails and correspondence of Danish with five top terror operatives, including Haroon of Kolkata, have revealed this conspiracy across international borders. Haroon had also been to Hyderabad to meet Danish to discuss their plans.”

It can be recollected that the crime branch had arrested Danish Riyaz, a key IM operative, in June.

According to reports, the alliance was formed before Danish was arrested. The Times of India quoted another senior official in the crime branch as saying, “According to Haroon’s emails, 10 hand-picked youth from across the country were to be sent to Pakistan and then Afghanistan for terror training.”

The police have said that Haroon is a suspect in the Mumbai blasts case and is believed to have been in contact with leaders of the Taliban. They are also investigating if the 10 youth were sent for special Taliban training program.

Another crime branch official was quoted by the Media as saying, “Danish has made crucial disclosures in this regard. We cannot reveal more at this juncture.”
