Misuse of women protection laws – 1.25 lakh women arrested without investigation

Over 5 lakh people arrested without investigation in the period 2004 to 2007 under cases of

IPC 498a. This includes 1.25 lakh women, 5000 senior citizens and 500 minor children.

These laws like IPC 498a should be amended to include compulsory investigation before arrest and automatic prosecution of misusers.

  1. Sirs, Web is full of stories of devastation caused by corrupt wives aided by criminals and vote bank law 498A. This ludicrous law orders police to arrest without enquiry husbands and his relatives. Corrupt law makers need be booked by Hon’ble Supreme Court, and Legal Terrorism should be curbed. Let us learn from Pakistan how bad law makers should be treated.
