Udhagamandalam, Sept 8: After the income tax officials swooped the residences of top Malayalam superstars, Mammootty and Mohanlal following reports that they have undisclosed assets, further trouble seem to be in the offing for Actor Mohanlal who was given the title Lieutanant Colonel title in the Indian Territorial Army.
Sleuths from the Archaeology Department conducted fresh raids at Mohanlal’s farmhouse in Lovedale, Udhagamandalam on Wednesday. It is reported that they seized antiques that were acquired in his massive collection. The actor is known for his penchant for antiques.
The officials acted on a tip-off about the mini treasure trove in the actor’s farmhouse and found four guns, believed to be 100 years old and two golden statues. The raid continued for close to 10 hours and was carried out by eight officers. The antiques are understood to have acquired by the actor from the Thiruvananthapuram royal family.
The value of the antiques is not known yet with sleuths sealing the items in a room. Further investigation into the matter is expected including information on how the actor bought the antiques and the details of the said objects.
