Ningappa of Maddur (Mandya Dist) was found dead on the verandah of his house in the village on August 3 and police had registered a case.
Ningappa’s wife Malathi allegedly had an affair with Dasegowda of the same village for the past few years. While Ningappa was sleeping on the verandah, Malathi had been to meet Dasegowda in the backyard. Ningappa caught them red-handed by accident.
Dasegowda and Malathi held Ningappa and assaulted him. While Dasegowda strangulated Ningappa, Malathi hit him on the private parts. Later, the duo shifted the body of Ningappa to the verandah. Acting on a tip by villagers, police picked up the duo, who confessed to the crime. The accused have been remanded to judicial custody.
