The Patiala police have booked the dismissed judicial magistrate, Anantdeep Singh, on charges of criminal breach of trust and cruelty, on the basis of a complaint lodged by his wife Navpreet Kaur. Their marriage ran into rough weather in 2007.
In her complaint to the police, Navpreet alleged that her husband and his batchmate Kamal Varinder had developed illicit relations, due to which, he started maltreating her. Both Kamal and Anantdeep have been dismissed from the service.
“They have been close to each other since 2007,” Navpreet’s complaint mentions. According to the FIR, registered at the Civil Lines police station on Wednesday, Anantdeep has been booked under Sections 406 and 498-A of the Indian Penal Code.
“The accused allegedly harassed his wife and abused her physically. During their training, Kamal and Anantdeep became close and following an enquiry into the complaint filed by Navpreet in the High Court last year, the full bench dismissed them,” claimed Navpreet.
