Lucknow, April 25 A woman poisoned her four daughters and then committed suicide by consuming insecticide Friday in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh after a spat with her mother-in-law. One of her daughters died while three others are undergoing treatment in a hospital, the police said.
Samar Pali, in her late 30s, committed the crime after a verbal dispute with her mother-in-law. Her 18-year-old daughter Richa died on the spot.
“According to locals, she had a verbal dispute with her mother-in-law (Friday) morning. She then mixed insecticide in milk and served it to her daughters,” Inspector C.B. Shukla told media by phone. The incident took place in Pohli village.
Renu, 15, Sakshi, 13, and Rakhi, 10, are admitted to a private hospital, the police said.
“Renu and Sakshi are stable but Rakhi is in serious condition,” Shukla added.
However, no police case has been registered and the family members also refused the postmortem of the deceased.
“As no police case has been registered by the family members of any side, we do not have any role in probing the incident,” Shukla said.
