Woman sets baby ablaze

MANGALORE: Devaki, (26), a resident of Poopadikallu Kadandale village in Mangalore taluk, allegedly killed her eight-month-old child Jhanavi by setting her ablaze on Monday and later committed suicide similarly after dousing herself with kerosene.
Devaki, who suffered serious burns, died on the spot in her house. The Moodbidri police have registered a case of murder in this regard.
